The Royal Pharmaceutical Society is recruiting a new Director for England as part of its commitment to support health policy across Great Britain. The role will drive professional leadership for the pharmacy profession in England, and lead on national policy development and advocacy across England, in partnership with the English Pharmacy Board.

RPS will also recruit for an Acting Director for Wales as current Director Elen Jones moves into a 15-month fixed-term role as Acting Director of Pharmacy.

RPS Directors of England, Scotland and Wales will report to Elen as Acting Director of Pharmacy and the team will focus on strengthening RPS advocacy for the profession. Elen will also support RPS Chief Executive Paul Bennett in strengthening collaboration with other professional bodies, specialist pharmacy groups and stakeholders as RPS transitions into The Royal College of Pharmacy.  Elen will continue to lead across RPS patient safety, guidance and heritage activities.

RPS Chief Executive Paul Bennett said:

“The next 15 months will be very busy for RPS as we look to implement the changes that our members voted in favour of, in our recent Special Resolution Vote, including our transition to becoming the Royal College of Pharmacy.
