The RPS has been designated as a Core Participant in Module 3 of the UK Covid-19 Inquiry, which will examine the impact of Covid-19 on healthcare across the United Kingdom.
A Core Participant is a person, institution or organisation that has a specific interest in the work of the inquiry.
The independent public inquiry has been set up to examine the UK’s response to and impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, and learn lessons for the future.
RPS President Professor Claire Anderson said:
“Pharmacists and pharmacy teams were on the frontline of COVID-19 and went above and beyond to put patients first.
“In 2020 we engaged extensively with the profession and published a report examining the challenges for pharmacy teams during the pandemic as well as the opportunities to transform patient care.
“It is vital that we learn lessons for the future and we will be engaging with the inquiry as it moves forwards.”
