In June, Laura Wilson, Director for Scotland and Fiona McIntyre, Policy and Practice Lead, met with the Dumfries & Galloway pharmacy team, where they observed pharmacy services in both primary and secondary care settings.
In particular, they explored the pharmacotherapy hub at Mountainhall and learned about its operations directly from the pharmacy team.
Laura and Fiona also had the opportunity to engage in a “Meet the Leaders” session, where they discussed their professional experiences and leadership journey in pharmacy.
The visit concluded with an insightful tour of the hospital pharmacy at Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary, and a productive meeting with the pharmacy team in the combined assessment unit.
Overall, the visit provided significant insights and it was hugely valuable to connect with pharmacy teams.
Many thanks to Liane Holmes, Lead Pharmacist; Nicola Robertson, Lead Pharmacist; Graeme Bryson, Director of Pharmacy and Melanie Bryan, Lead Pharmacy Technician who all supported the visit.
